OUR MINISTRIES

About Ministries at Calvary

When Jesus ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father, He gave gifts "for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God." Earlier in this reference, Paul reminded us in Ephesians 4:11 what those gifts are, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. Then in 1 Corinthians 12, Paul also mentions the gifts of Helps. These gifts are the foundation for ministries to flourish in our congregation. These Five Fold Gifts plus one are recognized as what most would refer to as Department Heads at Calvary. We call them our Team Six!

Discipleship and Training Ministries

Led by: Jacob and Erica Burrill

Provides leadership over areas that bring education and disciple people in the ways of God and includes, children, youth and adult ministries.

  • Nursery: Parent led, meet in Hale Ke'ena

  • Kid’s Church: Erica Burrill

  • Youth Sunday School: Rebecca Lo

  • Newcomers Dinner in Spring and Fall: CCC Leaders

  • Mana in the Ohana Parent Workshops: Jacob & Erica

  • Sunday Morning Bible Study: Kealoha and Taimane

Fellowship Groups

Led by: Laura Castaneda

Provides leadership over the various expressions of ministry whose main goal is to provide a place for members to nurture lasting relationships. And provide fellowship opportunities around God's Feasts and Holiday Celebrations.

  • Bi-Monthly 'Ohana Shabbat: Shared Family Dinners, Led by various Calvary Leaders

  • Firstfruits Lunches: One Sunday each month

  • God's Feasts on Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles: Shared Family Dinners

  • Thanksgiving Dinner: Shared Family Dinners

  • Christmas Eve: Sweets and Hot Drinks served after Candlelight Service

Worship and Prayer Ministries

Led by: Taimane Kaopua

Provides leadership in every worship gathering and includes prayer groups, prayer initiatives, intercessions, prophetic acts, decrees and proclamations.

Provides the overall main leadership for the church, spiritually, financially and in all the ways that make us visible to the community including development of property.

Provides the leadership and is the driving force behind community and creative outreach efforts that focus on saving the lost, sharing the Good News and multiplying ministers.
